The Stem Cell Unit at the King Saud University College of Medicine is seeking two highly self-motivated postdoctoral researcher. Ideal candidates should be creative, knowledgeable, independent, well-organized, and capable of multitasking and able to work in a team.
The stem cell unit is equipped with state-of-the-art tissue culture, flow cytometry , and immunohistochemistry facilities, in addition to a cell sorter, time-lapse imaging system, Applied Biosystem quantitative real-time PCR, and a microarray station. We at the stem cell unit are interested in studying various aspects of stem cell biology such as epigenetic regulation of mesenchymal stem cell differentiation, microRNAs and regulation of stem cell differentiation, crosstalk between mesenchymal stem cells and cancer cells, iPS, and cancer stem cells.
Summary of Duties: Perform independent basic or applied research, data analysis and interpretation and manuscript preparation. The candidate will be supervised by existing senior investigators at the stem cell unit.
Education/Experience: Recent Ph.D. degree in biological or health sciences with good experience in tissue culture, basic molecular and cellular techniques. The candidate must have good English writing and communication skills. Candidates with good experience and publication history in stem cell and molecular biology research, western blotting, flow cytometry or microarray are preferred. Priority will be given to candidates who are already residing in Saudi Arabia. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualification and prior experience.
