A position is available for a research scientist in a recently funded Global Health Research Program in Dr. Tayyaba Hasan’s laboratory at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Boston, MA.
The position will involve working on preclinical oral cancer models and the coordination of collaborative research between Dr. Hasan’s lab and our partners in India at Aligarh University. The goal is to generate and participate in the translation of preclinical data to establish a clinical trial in India. The individual will be key in ensuring communication between Wellman and Aligarh.
Candidates with deep interest in “bench to bedside translation” and a background in cell biological techniques, an understanding of oncogenic pathways and animal models of cancer are encouraged to apply. While prior experience in coordinating collaborations and familiarity with clinical translational research is desirable, it is not required. However, a strong interest and desire to learn both these aspects on the job is required. In a later phase there will be opportunities for interaction with our industry partners.
This position offers an opportunity for career growth to those interested in broadening their training beyond laboratory research. Candidates must be energetic, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking.
