Postdoctoral Position in Fungal Pathobiology:
A postdoctoral position is immediately available within the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of South Alabama. The project will focus on mutational analyses of RasA, an important signal transduction protein regulating morphogenesis and virulence of Aspergillus fumigatus. The successful candidate will be responsible for the generation and characterization of novel A. fumigatus mutant strains, including the analysis of RasA protein interactions, sub-cellular localization and activation. Studies will require expertise in molecular and cellular biology and may involve the use of murine models of infection. With satisfactory progress, three years of initial funding are available.
The University of South Alabama is located in Mobile, AL on a beautiful 1200 acre, wooded campus situated on the Gulf Coast.
