A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study molecular mechanisms of regulation of metabolism using integrated approaches. Motivated individuals with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics or a related field are invited to apply. The postdoctoral scholar will investigate molecular mechanisms that maintain glucose homeostasis and energy balance in normal and obese states. Previous work with mice is absolutely required and experience in a metabolism- related area is strongly desired. Fellows will work with an interdisciplinary team with access to outstanding state-of-the-art facilities for mouse phenotyping, animal and cellular imaging, biochemistry and molecular biology. The postdoctoral trainee will create an individual development plan, participate in training activities in the Department of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston (http://ibp.med.uth.tmc.edu/) and apply for extramural funding. Salary is commensurate with experience. Please send application materials by email with “transcription” in the subject line. Please email a cover letter detailing your research interests and career goals, CV and names of three references to Rebecca Berdeaux, Ph.D., Rebecca.Berdeaux@uth.tmc.edu….
