One postdoctoral position will be available beginning on September 1, 2015. This is a one year fellowship, renewable. The Neurophysiology lab (http://neurophy.ulb.ac.be/) is part of the ULB Neuroscience Institute (UNI, http://uni.ulb.ac.be/) and focuses on interdisciplinary research in neuroscience, spanning from molecular, cellular and genetic approaches. The main research interest of our lab is to characterize at the molecular and network levels, the functions and dysfunctions of the basal ganglia system. Our general aim is to understand the respective roles of different neuronal subpopulations of the striatum and consequently, of the different pathways of the basal ganglia system as well as their dysfunctions or differential implications related pathologies. Candidates should have a substantial experience in experimental techniques such as patch-clamp on acute brain slices, calcium imaging, confocal imaging and/or optogenetic approaches.

To apply, please submit: 1. A complete CV, including a list of publications. 2. A statement of your research interests and a description of how those interests complement the research topics of the ULB Neurophysiology lab. 3. 3-5 letters of reference For primary consideration, apply by February 1, 2015, although we will accept applications until the position is filled. Please submit your application to prof. Serge N. Schiffmann (sschiffm@ulb.ac.be). Inquiries about your application may be directed to prof.
