A post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Professor Mark Harris, to study the nsp3 protein of Chikungunya virus, a re-emerging member of the Alphavirus family. This post is funded by a Wellcome Trust Senior Investigator Award.
The post will focus on the Chikungunya nsp3 protein, in particular addressing its function in the virus lifecycle and identifying cellular interacting partners of nsp3. This will suit individuals with expertise in virology, cell biology and/or biochemistry.
You will have a PhD in Virology, Cell Biology or a related discipline. Experience with working at biosafety level 3 is desirable. You will join a vibrant research group that is establishing a research portfolio to investigate Chikungunya virus that complements existing activity in hepatitis C virus biology. The position is available immediately until the end of June 2017 when the grant funding terminates.
