Salary package: $64,386 - $81,672 plus Super
The ANU College of Medicine, Biology and Environment (CMBE) brings together medical, biological, population health, psychological and environmental sciences in six schools: The ANU Medical School, The Fenner School of Environment and Society, The John Curtin School of Medical Research, the Research School of Biology, the Research School of Population Health, and the Research School of Psychology. The National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH) forms part of the Research School of Population Health (RSPH) at The Australian National University (ANU) and is a leading centre of population health research in Australia.
RSPH researchers have a tradition of excellence in addressing the world's most pressing population health issues, including mental health, healthy ageing, chronic disease prevention, infectious disease prevention, environmental health, social and cultural aspects of health and global health. ANU is leading the way in population health research in Australia and holds the highest rankings in the 'Excellence in Research for Australia' assessment in Public Health.
This position of Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an exciting opportunity to further develop quantitative and qualitative research skills, under the guidance of national and international climate change and human health experts, within a vibrant research group. The NHMRC project correlates thermal environments with heat-related symptomatology and productivity decline, to project future health and productivity burdens, and identify suitable protective adaptation responses.
The role in this exciting project will be to maintain partnership relationships, engage in direct data gathering, manage large health and meteorological datasets with support from a Research Assistant, and analyse data. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to develop their academic career and publish journal articles.
