R&D Center - Operation Specialist, External Collaboration
Position Overview: This role will provide operational support to LCRDC externalcollaboration related activities. The role will work closely withscientific team and different functional group on contract execution andcost management for LCRDC outsourced research service. This positionwill also serve as subject matter expert (SME) in facilitating patentagreements. The position requires strong ownership and goodunderstanding of R&D business.
Key Objectives & Deliverables: 1. Outsourcing of research services o Partner with scientific lead, procurement and other functional team todefine the key deliverables and key performance index (KPI) tooutsourced research services, draft outsourced contract following withlegal guidance, lead or play a key role in contract negotiation andexecution o Be the gatekeeper for external related spending, partner with researchand finance team to ensure appropriate budget allocation for eachresearch activity, monitor budget spending for each activity, ensure thetimely and accurate payment to service supplier o Partner with internal functional owners on supplier management toensure the high quality, efficiency and productivity of outsourcedservices 2. SME on patent agreements o Be the subject matter expert (SME) on patent agreement, make judgmenton agreement type and appropriate working group from initiate stage,able to identify potential risks in compliance, IP and logistic aspectsand make suggestions accordingly o Partner with global compliance team to complete Anti-corruption DueDiligence (ACDD) process when interacting with other party which meetsACDD criteria o Work closely with scientific team to ensure the quality input in Lillyelectronic agreement request system (eARS), work with global patentagreement group (PAG), legal and scientific team to facilitate thecontracting process, monitor and taking appropriate actions to resolvethe issues during the contracting process o Ensure the appropriate documentation archive o Collect metrics and actively provide constructive feedbacks to globalprocess owner on process improvement 3. Operation support to external collaboration projects o Provide operational and logistic support to ensure the smoothimplementation of external collaboration projects o Act as data steward on external collaboration SharePoint sites o Coordinate with internal and external partners on on-board, off-boardand roster review of external users in FieldGlass system o Coordinate with global team and provide notebook support to externalusers o Coordinate on-site GRP, Veterinary, HSE audits to external partners o Ensure the compliance with all internal and external policies, laws,and procedures
Basic Requirements: • Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical / Biology / Chemistry with more than3 years working experiences, graduate degree is preferred • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical R&D business • Self-motivation with strong ownership, ability to work independently • Strong learning agility • Strong inter-personal and cross-functional coordination skills • Advanced computer application skills in Excel, Access, VB, et al • Fluent in spoken and written English
