A postdoctoral position is available in the Medical Virology Section, Laboratory of Infectious Diseases, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health (NIH) to identity cellular genes important for control of human herpesvirus infections, especially Epstein-Barr virus. The Medical Virology Section evaluates patients who have severe diseases due to herpesviruses. We are using genetic testing to try to identify and characterize new cellular genes important for controlling virus infections and to develop new forms of treatment.
Candidates must have an M.D. or Ph.D., less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience, and experience in immunology and/or virology.
