The Max-von-Pettenkofer Institute and the Children’s Hospital at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich offer a postdoctoral position (E13) for a collaborative research programme which focuses on the application of novel, Systems Biology based experimental technologies in biomedical research. In this research programme, high-throughput technologies including large-scale bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (BRET) and yeast-two-hybrid analyses will be applied to investigate protein-protein interactions in infectious and genetic diseases (Science. 2006, 311:239-42; PLoS ONE. 2007 May 23;2:e459; Eur J Cell Biol. 2003, 82:333-42).

The position is available starting October 1, 2007 and is funded by the LMUexcellent initiative until December 2010. Candidates with a strong background in molecular biology or protein chemistry will be prefered. The applicants should be able to handle a variety of tasks, effectively solve problems with numerous and complex variables, and shift priorities rapidly. We offer an excellent work environment and a research project at the interface of basic science, bioinformatics and clinical medicine which aims at the introduction of cutting-edge technologies in medicine.
