Job Code: CS5-16 GNF has an open postdoctoral fellow position for an independent thinker with demonstrated research experience in the field of stem cell biology. The successful candidate will use proprietary techniques to generate immortalized cells for models of disease and apply forward genomics tools (arrayed siRNA and cDNA libraries) and extensive compound libraries for screens addressing stem cell maintenance and differentiation. For follow-up of interesting hits GNF provides state of the art resources. These include core-facilities for proteomics, gene-expression and reverse (conditional knockout) mouse genetics, as well as multiple drug-discovery programs. To apply, candidates should have a strong interest in using these tools to address fundamental questions in stem cell biology. The Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF), located in the Torrey Pines area of San Diego, CA, is funded by the Novartis Research Foundation and dedicated to the development and application of new methods and techniques for genome-wide biological discovery and biomedical research.
