Post-Doctoral Research Associate: Molecular Basis of Alzheimer’s Disease

A post-doctoral research position is available in the group led by Professor David Klenerman exploiting fluorescence microscopy to characterise oligomers of amyloid beta and determining the initial events that lead to damage of neurons. This position is funded by a MRC /Wellcome Trust initiative in neurodegenerative disease, and is part of large consortium tackling the cause of Alzheimer’s disease based at Cambridge, Bristol, Hamburg and Toronto Universities.
Applicants should have a PhD in biophysics or a related area, and should have experience in working with live cells. Expertise in fluorescence microscopy, cell biophysics or neurophysiology would be advantageous, as well as a strong interest in performing multi-disciplinary research.
