Position
Postdoctoral Associate - Signaling Mechanisms in Embryos
Location
San Diego
Date Posted
Sep 10th 2007
Description
A postdoctoral position is available to investigate the mechanism of retinoic acid signaling during organogenesis in mouse embryos. Our laboratory has demonstrated that retinoic acid synthesis in mesoderm controlled by retinaldehyde dehydrogenase-2 (Raldh2) regulates differentiation during body axis extension by acting in the neuroectoderm (Nature Cell Biol. 8: 271-277; 2006). We are searching for a postdoctoral scientist to explore the nature of retinoic acid target tissues, target genes, and crosstalk between the retinoic acid, FGF, and Wnt signaling pathways.
