Description
This position is in support of a multi-disciplinary research project at Louisiana State University concerning the design, fabrication, modeling, and control of nanoscale biomolecular machines. The project involves faculty members from mechanical engineering, biological sciences, and chemistry. We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study the biomechanical properties of the enzyme biotin carboxylase using molecular dynamics and/or mesoscopic-level simulation methods.
Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in engineering, materials science, physics, or a closely related discipline. Desired qualifications include: i) Prior experience with molecular dynamics or mesoscopic-level simulations of biomaterials; ii) Strong Fortran90 or C programming skills; and iii) Knowledge of high-performance computing.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Funds are available for a 2-year appointment with immediate starting date.
