Description
Two NIH funded postdoctoral positions are available at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. We are looking for energetic individuals who wish to join a young and rapidly growing laboratory to study molecular and cellular mechanisms of G protein signal transduction pathways in mammals. Successful candidates are expected to participate in basic research focused on investigating fundamental mechanisms that govern synthesis, degradation, activity regulation and macromolecular complex assembly of proteins that regulate G protein coupled receptor signaling.
The laboratory employs a variety of multidisciplinary approaches spanning from enzyme kinetics and protein-protein interactions to imaging of protein trafficking, mass-spectrometry assisted proteomics and analysis of transgenic/ knockout mice at the organismal level. Please visit laboratory web-site at: www.tc.umn.edu/~marte105 for details on specific research directions and model systems.
The Department is tightly integrated with a larger biomedical research community on campus providing training and diverse expertise through collaborations, which combined with the state of the art facilities, offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth.
The University of Minnesota –Twin Cities is one of the five country’s largest campuses located in the heart of the Minneapolis-St.Paul, a large metropolitan area with endless opportunities for entertainment, cultural experiences and nature exploration.
