Description
The Department of Physiology and Cell Biology and the Center for Brainand Spinal Cord Repair at the Ohio State University seek an individualto fill a recently funded 1-2 year postdoctoral position in the area ofSpinal Cord Injury research. The program of study represents amultidisciplinary and highly collaborative approach to identify noveltreatment strategies for this devastating condition.
The successful candidate will have an interest in plasticity and repairof the injured spinal cord and expertise in small animal surgery,behavioral and/or electrophysiological assessment, and basic biochemicaland molecular biological approaches to examine mechanistic hypotheses.Applicants should possess an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degree with training incell biology and/or Neuroscience, and a strong publication record.Previous post-doctoral or equivalent experience is desired but notrequired. Preference will be given to individuals with self-initiative.Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
The candidate must be available to start by February 1, 2008.
