FACULTY OF MEDICINE
Applications are invited for three Research positions within the Facultyof Medicine at the Hammersmith Campus of Imperial College. Thesepositions are available as part of a collaborative project between theMolecular Genetics and Rheumatology Section, Physiological Genomics andMedicine, and Investigative Sciences.
2 Research Associates
£24,570 – £30,420 per annum
Post 1 (SM167/07) This post will primarily focus on the genomics of CopyNumber Variation (CNV) and the molecular characterisation of the copynumber variants with the aim of assay development to inform diseaseassociation and functional studies. Experience in molecular genetics andgenomics is essential for this post.
Post 2 (SM168/07) This post will primarily focus on characterising themolecular and cellular consequences of CNV at loci on chromosome 1q23and elsewhere in the genome that relate to the development ofautoimmunity. Experience in molecular biology or immunology is arequirement for this post.
Research Technician
£24,570 per annum
Post 3 (SM169/07) The post will primarily focus on the genetics of CopyNumber Variation and the implementing of novel assays for copy numbervariation applied in disease association studies. The candidate isexpected to have a university degree (e.g., BSc or MSc) in BiomedicalScience or equivalent and laboratory experience in molecular biology and genetics.
Applicants can apply for more than one post. A PhD in a relevantbiological discipline is essential for posts 1 and 2.
These posts are funded by a 3 year Wellcome Trust project grant and areavailable immediately.
