The LSU Health Sciences Center/Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Researcher.
Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent in this position will plan, organize, and conduct highly independent basic cancer research projects, including identification of unique pro-apototic signaling pathways activating transcriptional co-repressors in response to DNA damage, and/or cloning of downstream effector candidate molecules through either genomics/proteomics approaches or yeast two-hybrid (or phage-display) screening. Applications are sought from highly motivated individuals with a strong background in cancer cell biology. Candidates must have a Ph. D. or any equivalent degree in biochemistry and molecular biology.
Basic knowledge and demonstrated experience in DNA cloning, Western blotting, and cell culture work are mandatory. Research experience in qRT-PCR, luciferase reporter assays, or immunohistochemical analysis of frozen or paraffin-embedded human tissues would be a plus.
