Description
The laboratory "Hematopoiesis and Cancer" at the Institut deRecherches Cliniques de Montreal (IRCM) seeks a highly motivatedpost-doctoral researcher at a junior or senior level to work ondeciphering the function of alternative splicing in the immune system.
Of interest to us are in particular the role of the proteins U2AF26, thetranscription factor and chromatin modifier Gfi1 and the protein hnRNPLthat all impinge on the alternative splicing of the gene encoding CD45.
The questions to be solved would be which role these factors play in thedevelopment and activation of immune cells, in particular memoryT-cells, and which target genes are regulated by these factors. Theproject involves using transgenic and gene deficient mice alreadyavailable in the laboratory that over express or lack the genes encodingthese factors.
