Postdoctoral Immunologist
We are seeking a postdoctoral scientist to join Dr Sarah Gilbert'sinfluenza vaccine development group at the Jenner Institute, Universityof Oxford. The research programme, funded by the Wellcome Trust, focuseson pre-clinical and clinical testing of novel influenza vaccinesdesigned to induce heterosubtypic immunity.
You will be part of the clinical trial team and will work on theevaluation of candidate vaccines. The research involves cellularimmunology techniques carried out with human blood samples includingELISPOT, ELISA, flow cytometry and sterile cell culture.
You will be an enthusiastic, motivated postdoctoral scientist possessingexperience in immunology with an ability to work to a high standard.Previous laboratory experience, good communication skills and theability to work as part of a team are essential. Experience ofpre-clinical vaccine evaluation would be an advantage, as wouldexperience of working to GLP. This post is available until 30 April 2010.
