Research Fellow in Human T-Cell Immunology (2 posts)
School of Medicine-Cancer Sciences Division
Two Post-Doctoral positions are available to work with Dr. Sonia Quaratino at the Cancer Sciences Division of the
University of Southampton to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying human chronic inflammatory diseases
such as Coeliac Disease. In particular the project aims to dissect the pathways involved in the regulation of
inflammation. Experiments will be carried out in vitro in cell lines and tissue organ cultures and in vivo in
appropriate models.
You should have a Ph.D in immunology or M.D. with research experience and have a deep knowledge of immunology and
be able to design and execute murine studies. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in cellular
immunology. You should have excellent technical skills in cell culture, and be competent in DNA and RNA isolation,
PCR, cell transfection, and flow cytometry. You must be highly motivated and capable of contributing productively
in a team environment. Good communication skills in oral and written English are necessary. Personal development
will be actively supported and attendance for courses/training encouraged.
