Postdoctoral Position in “Molecular Innate Immunobiology”
This research position is funded for 2 years, starting January 2008 withthe possibility of extension for another 3 years by the German ResearchFoundation (DFG) according to TV-L E13 in the laboratory of Dr T. A. Kufer.
The project will focus on deciphering the molecular and cellular eventsunderlying signalling through Nod1, Nod2 and their crosstalk with otherNLR members using the invasive human pathogen Shigella flexneri as amodel system.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual interested in thecell-biological and biochemical characterization of NLRs and theirunderlying signalling cascades.
The candidate will benefit from the stimulating scientific environmentin innate immunology offered by the research network SFB 670“Cell-autonomous Immunity” in which the host-laboratory takes part.Please visit our homepage for further information on current projects (http://www.uni-koeln.de/med-fak/immh/fbrschung/ag_tk.htm).
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in biological science or equivalent,and should have a strong background in cell-biology, immunology orbiochemistry. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, able towork independently, and have a bibliography with at least one firstauthor publication in a distinguished international journal. Soundexperience and expertise in live-cell imaging techniques or expressionof recombinant proteins would be an advantage.
