Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Full time � One Year Fixed-term
(Further 3 year extension possible)
This project investigates neuroinflammatory processes with particular focus on microglial cells / macrophages as potential therapeutic targets in neurodegenerative disorders. We will investigate the role of ion channels, ion transporters and neurotransmitter receptors of microglia/macrophages in regulating cell behaviour and in mediating microglial-neuronal interactions under healthy and pathological conditions.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with expertise in performing in situ patch clamp and fluorescence imaging experiments. Previous work experience on immune cells using immunohistochemical or molecular biology techniques is desirable. Candidates should be willing to work for a certain time in collaborators’ laboratories outside the UK.
Maximum starting salary for this post is £32,920 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
