Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Grade 7: £29,249 � £35,938 (with a discretionary range to £39,257) p.a.
We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work in the DNA replication and repair group of Dr W Niedzwiedz, focussing on the role of Fanconi Anaemia (FA) proteins in replication-mediated DNA repair and the relationship between genomic instability and cancer.
The successful candidate will focus on dissecting the mechanism by which FANCM promotes replisome stability (EMBO 29(4): 806-18; Hum Mol Genet. 2012 May 1;21(9):2005-16). The role will involve use of chromatin immunoprecipitation combined with high throughput sequencing (ChIP-seq) as well as standard molecular and cell biology techniques that are well established in the lab.
You will have a PhD in biochemistry, cell biology or genetics. Significant experience in molecular biology, confocal microscopy, protein biochemistry and chromatin immunoprecipitation is essential. Expertise in a broad range of cell-biological and biochemical techniques would be desirable.
This full time post, funded by MRC , is offered until 31st March 2015.
