Post-Doctoral Research Associate � Endocytic Membrane Traffic and Disease

£29,249 � £31,020 per annum
You will study the protein mutated in Lowe syndrome and Dent-2 disease OCRL1 and how it regulates membrane traffic within the endocytic pathway. A variety of approaches will be used to investigate the cargo molecules and trafficking routes regulated by OCRL1, and to dissect the mechanisms involved. These will include both biochemical and cell biological methods including time-lapse and electron microscopy.
You will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in one of the biological sciences. Excellent communication skills are essential and previous experience in biochemistry or cell biology is desirable.
Funded by the MRC , this position is available from 1st October 2012 for up to 48 months.
