Applications are invited for a 2 or 3-year postdoctoral researchposition in the Osteoarticular and Osteoarthritis research group ofProfessor Dr. Thomas Aigner at the Institute of Pathology, University ofLeipzig, Germany.
Our current research is focused on cellular degeneration in andfunctional genomics of osteoarthritis and immortality of chondrocytes inchondrogenic neoplasias. The successful candidate will investigatenetworks of cellular degeneration and mechanisms of inducing cellularsenescence in chondrocytes. This work will link biological expertise,experimental work with bioinformatic analysis and should be related to asystems biology approach for OA research.
Applicants should have or shortly expect to receive a (MD or) PhD degreein a relevant discipline. A solid background in molecular and cellularbiology is desired. Organisational skills and the ability to design,plan and interpret experiments in an independent, innovative manner are important.
The project is supported by the German National Science Foundation andthe European Community.
