Postdoctoral Fellowship Positions – Cell/Matrix Adhesions and Wound Healing
Research positions at the rank of post-doctoral fellow (GAHO-PD0155,GAHO-PD0156,GAHO-PD0157,GAHO-PD0158) are available to work on characterization of proteins implicated in cell/matrix adhesion and wound healing in the Division of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA).
The UTHSCSA is the largest medical research institute in South Texas. UTHSCSA provides a rich academic environment for investigators to engage in research that applies cutting-edge technologies in genomics, proteomics, immunology, genetics, and bioinformatics.
The successful applicants will join a laboratory with an outstanding team of faculty that is solely focused on skin biology and pathology.
The applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., be motivated, organized, and able to work independently. Knowledge of techniques in cell culture, protein chemistry, protein-protein interactions, and molecular biology is required.
Candidates with previous experimental experience in skin biology, protein purification techniques, chromatography, transgenic mice, and wound healing are preferred.
The city of San Antonio, the seventh-most populated in the U.S., has a vibrant art community that reflects the rich history and culture of the area with affordable housing, excellent schools, and a low crime rate. The campus is located close to the center of multi-cultural San Antonio, and is at the gateway to the Hill Country and its wealth of outdoor and cultural activities.
