Description
The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, an international non-profit institute dedicated to understanding and controlling cancer, invites applications for a Postdoctoral position in the Computational Genomics Group of the Lausanne Branch.
We are focussed on developing and applying in silico methods to elucidate the functions of the genes encoding cancer-testis (CT) antigens (see Simpson et al Nat Rev Cancer 2005, 5(8):615; Stevenson et al BMC Genomics 2007, 8:129). Ideal candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program within this framework, and to interact closely with other members of the group. There are also possibilities to collaborate with scientists at the Ludwig Institute (www.licr.org) and within the Swiss Institute of Bioionformatics (www.isb-sib.ch). The group is located within the Center for Integrative Genomics on the lakeside campus of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in genomics and molecular evolution, with a PhD in biology or bioinformatics. Previous experience in computational genomics and demonstrated skills in scripting languages as applied to genome-wide analysis are essential.
The position is available immediately, initially for one year with renewal upon mutual agreement.
