POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSISTANT
A position is available in the Centre for Molecular Oncology &Imaging, Institute of Cancer for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant. Theappointee will be a member of the Oncolytic Viruses and In Vivo Imagingteam and will be based in the School’s state-of-the-art at CharterhouseSquare. The post is funded by Cancer Research UK.
The Oncolytic Viruses and In Vivo Imaging team is developing virusesselectively replicating in cancer cells where they express imaging genesfor in vivo visualisation of tumour tissue. Specifically, researchfocuses on studying specific viral gene deletions to enhance theefficacy in cancer cells and attenuate in normal tissue. The imaginggenes will be characterised for optimal type, promoter and imaging substrate.
Essential requirements for this post include a PhD in a relevant subjectand previous experience in molecular biology and cancer. A demonstratedability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain goodlaboratory records are also essential. Previous experience in the fieldof imaging and molecular genetics is desirable.
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment until September 2010.Appointment will be made on the grade 4 scale, with a starting salaryrange of £27,813 – £30,968 per annum inclusive of London weighting,depending on experience (pay grading review pending). The benefitspackage includes 30 days annual leave plus 4 College closure days; acontributory final salary pension scheme and an interest free seasonticket loan.
