Applications are invited for a BBSRC funded Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the research group of Guy Tear at the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology, King’s College, London. The research group studies the embryonic development of the Drosophila central nervous system. We combine molecular genetic approaches with the latest imaging techniques to investigate the molecules responsible for coordinating axon outgrowth in the developing nervous system.
Experience in molecular biology is required and experience of Drosophila genetics and embryological techniques desirable. Enthusiasm, reliability and organisational skills are essential. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a research project to investigate the roles of planar cell polarity genes in axon guidance. The Centre provides an excellent multi-disciplinary environment housing 20 research groups and is equipped with state of the art facilities.
For informal inquires, please contact Professor Guy Tear (Tel: 020 7848 6539; Email: guy.tear@kcl.ac.uk ). Information can also be obtained from our departmental website: http://www.kl.ac.uk/depsta/biomedical/mrc
The closing date for receipt of applications is 4th November 2012.
Interviews will be held in the week commencing 19th November 2012.
