Applications are invited for the position of Postdoctoral Research Assistant within the Stem cells, Regeneration and Cancer Team, led by Silvia Marino. The appointee will join an internationally recognised and highly motivated team of scientists investigating the role of Polycomb group genes in maintaining stem cell fate and in controlling proliferation and differentiation of progenitor cells, including their essential role in skeletal muscle regeneration. In particular we now plan, in collaboration with the neuromuscular clinical team led by Aleksandar Radunovic at Barts Health NHS Trust, to assess the translational potential of our recent discoveries in mouse models to enhance the regenerative process of the skeletal muscle in human neuromuscular disorders such as motor neurone disease.
We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a strong interest in the biology of postnatal stem cells and in the potential application of the latter to enhance regeneration and repair.
Candidates should have a strong background in cell biology and/or molecular biology. Experience in primary cell culture, microscopy techniques and/or image analysis will be highly desirable. Applicants must also have excellent technical, computing, communication and team working skills.
