Description
The Cellular Engineering and Nano-Therapeutics Laboratory (CENT LAB) atthe University of Michigan, Department of Biomedical Engineering, isseeking highly qualified applicants for a postdoctoral position in thearea of drug delivery, polymer therapeutics, and bio-nanotechnology.
Description: The mission of the CENT Lab is to develop novel polymericdrug delivery systems that can selectively deliver a wide range oftherapeutic molecules to target tissues with cellular and sub-cellularaccuracy for treatment of life-threatening diseases. The primary focusof this postdoctoral position is the design, synthesis, andcharacterization of new stimuli-sensitive polymers for biomedicalapplications. This position is for one year and subject for renewalbased on research progress and the availability of funds.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. degree inpolymer chemistry, material sciences, chemical engineering, or a relatedfield with an extensive experience in controlled free radicalpolymerization techniques (e.g. RAFT; ATRP). Applicants should beproficient in using different analytical tools including NMR, massspectroscopy, UV, IR, HPLC and GPC. These experiences should bereflected in a strong publication record. The applicant should haveexcellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability towork independently and collaboratively with graduate students and otherpostdoctoral fellows, plan and perform experiments, analyze data,communicate results in reports and scientific publications, and quicklylearn new techniques.
