Description
The RNA Genomics and Bioinformatics Lab of the University of Iowa(http://www.medicine.uiowa.edu/Labs/Xing/) is seeking candidates for twopostdoctoral research fellow positions to work on genomic analyses ofpre-mRNA splicing and microRNA. The long-term objective of our researchis to understand the role of post-transcriptional gene regulation (e.g.splicing and microRNAs) in normal and diseased human brains. We areusing state-of-the-art genomic technologies for global profiling ofmammalian transcriptomes. The postdoctoral fellows will developstatistical and computational methods for analyses and integration oflarge-scale, multi-species genomic data from diverse biological andclinical samples, including next-generation exon microarray andultra-deep sequencing data. He/she will have the opportunity tocollaborate with internationally recognized biomedical scientists atUniversity of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in the investigation ofhuman neurological diseases.
The applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics or closelyrelated fields. Strong ability in computer programming (perl/python,C/C++, R) is essential. An established track record in genome sequenceanalysis or microarray analysis is a significant plus.
