Description
Postdoctoral positions in the field of cancer pharmacogenomics areavailable immediately in Dr. Xifeng Wu’s lab at The University of TexasM.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Fellows are being recruited for projectsaimed at identifying biomarkers for the prediction of cancer treatmentoutcomes by integrating genetic variation information with clinical andepidemiological data utilizing our well-characterized patientpopulations and extensive collection of biospecimens. We have generatedand will continue to generate genome-wide SNP, CNV, gene expression, andcellular phenotypic data in these samples. Other projects includefunctional characterization of candidate genes/SNPs, fine-mapping ofgenomic regions of interest and the development of additional phenotypic assays.
Dr. Wu’s lab currently holds the position of principle investigator onten large-scale National Cancer Institute (NCI)-funded grants and majorcollaborator on twelve others. Successful applicants will have greatopportunities to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team ofbiologists, epidemiologists, statisticians, and clinicians, and todevelop multidisciplinary knowledge and techniques in molecular andcellular biology, epidemiology, statistics, genetics, genomics, andcancer medicine.
We seek highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals who have a Ph.D.and/or M.D. degree with less than 2 years of postdoctoral experience inbiochemistry, molecular biology, cellular biology, genetics, or relatedfields.
