Description
A postdoctoral fellow is being sought to investigate the molecularpathogenesis of diabetes and obesity in the University of California,San Diego (Department of Medicine, Endocrine Division).
We have identified a Golgi-associated molecular scaffold that regulatesthe subcellular localization of the glucose transporter GLUT4 incultured adipocytes (PMID 17059388 & 10988299). To validate thismolecular scaffold’s functions in glucose homeostasis and energymetabolism, we have recently established a mouse knockout model and arecharacterizing the metabolic phenotypes using physiology, cell biologyand biochemical approaches.
We are looking for candidates with a PhD degree, substantial expertisewith mouse physiology, a passion for diabetes research, and priorfirst-author publication(s). An ideal candidate will also have someexperience with cell biology and are available for a personal interview.
