Applications are now being accepted for a postdoctoral fellow positionto investigate molecular mechanisms of how synapses form and how theirstructure and function change under physiological as well aspathological conditions. Minimum qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in life sciences from an accredited university; familiaritywith molecular and cellular biological, electrophysiological, orbehavioral techniques is essential and direct experience in using thesetechniques is desired; excellent oral and written communication skillsin English are essential; highly motivated and self-driven individualwith creative problem solving capabilities; ability to workindependently and with the supervisor to develop, organize and completeresearch projects; successful candidates will have the opportunity todevelop and carry out exciting projects using multidisciplinaryapproaches; and immediate projects focus on pathophysiologicalmechanisms of neurological and psychiatric disorders includingschizophrenia, epilepsy, ALS, and muscular dystrophy.

Responsibilities:
This is a training position designed to learn through engagement in anadvanced level of scientific technical and administrative work insupport of research efforts in an assigned laboratory or clinicalresearch setting. The duties include, but are not limited to:participating in research data collection and documentation withinrelevant guidelines and protocols; developing and evaluating newresearch techniques and procedures; publishing results in scientificjournals; and performing a variety of complex chemical, biological,cytological, microscopic, histologic, surgical, clinical,statistical/computational and dissection procedures.

Shift: Days/M-F.
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of candidate
Minimum Pay: $35,000
