This position is eligible for a $500 Employee Referral Bonus consistentwith the University policy.
The Post Doctoral Associate will be a critical part of a majorscientific effort to identify chemical compounds and genes that regulateaxonal regeneration. The individual should have experience in and basicknowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry. Independently designand implement experimental plans that examine mechanisms ofneuroprotection and regeneration using High Content Screening. Must beable to analyze and represent data obtained from the various researchmodels. Perform small animal surgery and make primary cell cultures andanalyze the cultures using immunohistochemistry. Perform variousmolecular biological procedures, such as cloning, plasmid purification,and PCR reactions. Support screens, validate hits and provide a pathwayto understanding of underlying biology.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D and should havecompleted coursework or experience with computer programming,statistics, and modeling. Previous related work experience is preferred.An appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevantwork experience will be considered.
