Description
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to workin the Chemical Research Laboratory, University of Oxford, under thesupervision of Dr Michael Willis. The post is funded through the recentEPSRC/GlaxoSmithKline-sponsored initiative on Array Chemistry. The postis for up to one year.
The project involves developing new tandem catalytic processes suitablefor the synthesis of a variety of heterocycle systems in array format.See Angew Chem. Int. Ed. 2005 44, 403, and Adv. Syn. Cat. 2006, 348,851, for background studies. This collaborative project will involvespending some time at GlaxoSmithKline’s research site in Stevenage.
Candidates will have a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, or will havesubmitted a thesis prior to taking up the appointment. A background insynthetic organic chemistry and a strong interest in catalysis andorganometallic chemistry is essential. Experience and /or an interest inautomated synthesis and purification would also be an advantage.
