Postdoctoral Research Associate – Regulation of Gene Expression

£27,466 – £33,780 p.a.
You will join a team led by Dr Graham Pavitt studying the molecularmechanisms that regulate protein synthesis. The project involvescharacterising protein phosphorylation events that regulate thetranslation factor elF2B in response to nutritional stresses in theyeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
The project funded by BBSRC will be carried out within state-of-the-artresearch facilities and a stimulating 5 research environment. You willbe a member of a vibrant research community in which interactionsbetween researchers considering diverse problems are strongly encouraged.
You must hold a PhD, with at least one first author publication in aninternationally recognised journal. Experience in general molecularbiology and protein purification techniques is necessary, with yeastgenetics and other biochemistry related experience desirable.
This position is available immediately for 12 months.
