Description
Postdoctoral positions are available immediately. Our research interestsfocus on physiological and pathophysiological regulation of novelmolecules important in energy homeostasis and diabetes, as well as itscardiovascular complications. Better understanding of such mechanismsprovides opportunities for development of novel therapeutic strategiesin metabolic disease. Our recent work has involved the molecular basisfor the regulation by polyphenols of the NAD-dependent deacetylase,Sirtuin (SIRT)-1, in diabetes.
Requirements include a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. We areseeking highly motivated, enthusiastic and interactive individuals withstrong research background in cellular and molecular biology, signaltransduction or related field. Experience with experimental animalmodels and small animal surgery is preferred. Prior laboratoryexperience in an related field is desired, but not required.
