With almost 400 staff, up to 50 students and visiting scientists and anannual budget of 30 million, the BBSRC-sponsored Institute for AnimalHealth is the largest establishment in the UK undertaking high qualityresearch into infectious diseases of livestock.
Postdoctoral Scientist – Dendritic Cell Biology and FMDV Antigen Targeting
£26,088 to 28,986 depending on qualifications and experience • Ref 08P/0011
Investigating the targeting of foot-and-mouth disease virus antigens todendritic cell sub-populations, you will enjoy a high profile as youpresent your findings at conferences, publish data in referredscientific journals. What’s more, you will report regularly to seniormanagement on your progress and help mentor PhD students, so you canexpect to play a central part in everything we do.
Ideally, you will bring several years’ relevant postdoctoral experienceand a significant publication record in areas related to dendritic cellbiology and cellular immunology. You will certainly be knowledgeableregarding FACS sorting/analysis and preferably familiar with containmentfacilities and FMDV – and you will be keen to travel extensively, writeup your research comprehensively and really make your mark in Immunology.
