Universität Stuttgart with its 20,000 students and 7,000 employees isone of the leading European Research Universities with a main focus onengineering and natural sciences. Universität Stuttgart is committed toexcellent basic and applied research and interdisciplinary academiceducation. The excellence initiative of the German state and federalgovernments has approved the funding of the Cluster of Excellence EXC310 Simulation Technology (SimTech) at Universität Stuttgart(http://www.simtech.uni-stuttgart.de). In this context, the newlyestablished Stuttgart Research Centre for Simulation Technology (SRCSimTech) invites scientists to apply for six posts at the post-doc levelto pursue research in six future-orientated research fieldscorresponding to the application-oriented visions of the Cluster of Excellence.

Postdoc in the field of Integrated Modelling Approaches to Systems Biology
The research involves the development of methods and tools formodelling, simulation, analysis and design in the area of systemsbiology. The position is also embedded in the activities of theStuttgart Centre for Systems Biology CSB(http://www.centersysbio.uni-stuttgart.de). We are looking for a youngresearcher with a background in biology who is willing to bridge the gapbetween biology and engineering. The candidate should have a PhD inbiology or a related field and a background in
(1) modelling metabolism and signal transduction,
(2) model validation from experimental data,
(3) model-based experimental design.
This post is located at the Institute for Systems Theory and AutomaticControl, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Allgöwer.

This positions with the designated salary bracket TV-L 14 have a limitedtenure of three years with a possible extension by another two yearsafter a successful evaluation. The postdocs will have the opportunity topursue a German “Habilitation”. The postdocs are expected to participateactively in the SimTech Teaching Programmes and Industry Transfer Concepts.
