Description
Postdoctoral positions are available at Emory University focusing oninnate immunity of mucosal surfaces and epithelial cell biology.Opportunities exist for involvement in studies aimed at understandingstructure/function of epithelial intercellular junctions, mechanisms bywhich leukocytes interact with epithelial cells with special emphasis oncell-cell adhesion/integrins, signaling, epithelial cell migration androle of intercellular junction proteins in aspects of cancer biology.Available research projects provide ample opportunities to master a widevariety of experimental approaches including the use of transgenicanimals, molecular biochemistry (cloning, mutagenesis, structuralprotein biochemistry and antibody production), sophisticated microscopy, epithelial physiology and translational studies with human tissues.Additional information on our research and group can be obtained byvisiting our laboratory website: parkosandnusratlabs.com. A doctoraldegree, experience in molecular/cell biology and protein biochemistry ofeukaryotic systems and strong English communication skills are required.Since these projects have high impact and high productivity potential, preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in thefields of epithelial cell biology and/or innate immunity and evidence ofproductivity. The successful applicant will join our epithelialpathobiology group comprised of six principle investigators with commonresearch interests that occupy new, fully equipped and interconnectedresearch space.
