Description

In this position, the successful candidate will provide medical expert leadership for the clinical development and life cycle management development projects within the therapeutic area of Endocrinology. This comprises the organization of medical input into research and development projects, support and training of Medical Affairs, Marketing and Learning & Business Development.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Responsible for the organization of the following activities and deliverables:

Works within a project orientated/matrix organisation with a group of dedicated endocrinologists, gynecologists and clinical scientists.
Assumes responsibility for the design of the development strategy and the clinical development plans.
Works closely with Research to assure seamless transition of development candidates from proof of concept to full development.
Collaborates with commercial functions to guarantee the clinical development strategy is in line with commercial positioning of drug candidates.
Organizes advisory boards and key opinion leaders for external review and input of Clinical Development Plans and study concepts.
Plans and assigns internal and external resources to the teams based on strategic prioritization.

Leadership for Development after Proof-of-Concept up-to Phase IV including post-approval commitments
Co-leadership up to proof of concept, responsibility for all aspects concerning patient selection, patient safety, patient exposure and strategic fit to current and emerging treatment standards
Ensures seamless transfer of projects from Proof-of-Concept to full clinical development
Provides leadership to ensure state of the art Clinical Trial Design, authoring of the Clinical overview and supervises the delivery of consistent international standards
Provides scientific, clinical and medical input to research and development projects, marketed products, licensing opportunities and to the overall therapeutic area strategy
Provides functional leadership for labelling activities affecting products Contributes to target product profile (TPP) definition
Drives the definition of the clinical strategic options and writes/executes the CDPs and PDP and LCMP
Provides highly qualified medical and scientific resources to projects
Contributes to business development (medical and strategic input into portfolio management and due diligence)
Ensures timely deliverables of study concept sheets
Ensures and executes training and education for own department and related functions including Safety, Medical and Regulatory Affairs

Education and Languages

MD degree from a recognized medical university
Specialised training in Internal Medicine/Endocrinology
Significant scientific reputation in the international community including peer reviewed presentations and publications
Fluent English (our business language), French and or German an asset

Professional Experience
practical experience in direct patient care in the area of Internal Medicine/Endocrinology
experience in the Pharmaceutical industry, preferably within an international/matrix environment
