Responsibilities:
Post-doctoral position available for independent scientist to generate model organisms (transgenic mice) and study mechanisms of neuronal cell death in vivo by 2-photon microscopy. The Plesnila laboratory has a long lasting interest in the pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury, stroke, and global cerebral ischemia cerebral and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn the whole methodological spectrum necessary for performing top-notch research in the designated areas.
Requirements:
Applicant must have a PhD degree preferably in the field of neuroscience and/or molecular biology, a demonstrated graduate studies record of scientific accomplishment demonstrated by a solid publication record and motivation to study underlying mechanisms of cell death signaling in vivo. Experience with the methodology necessary to generate transgenic mice would be a plus.
