Description
Dr Marta E. Alarcón-Riquelme is seeking a postdoctoral researcher interested in statistical genetics and epidemiology for projects that will analyze human GWAS and candidate gene associations for systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis in admixed populations (particularly Hispanics). The position also includes the analyses searching for gene-gene interactions and clinical subphenotypes.
We have access to a well-established facility for computerized analyses and databases for phenotypic data.
A candidate should have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, genetics, bioinformatics, statistics, engineering or related fields and an interest in mapping genes for complex disease. Any prior experience in the application/implementation of established or new methods for genetic analysis in particular use of PLINK, IMPUTE and some knowledge of R language are preferred. Also, prior experience with admixture analyses (STRUCTURE or EIGENSTRAT) is a plus.
Minimum Requirements: Ph.D., M.D., or Ph.D./M.D. Ability to work within a UNIX OS and standard statistical software list SAS, S-Plus or SPSS
