Description
The group of Hergen Spits at Academic Medical Center at the University of Amsterdam is interested the interaction of lymphoid cells and stromal cells like epithelial cells and fibroblasts. The goal is to understand how aberrations in these interactions lead to autoimmune diseases. The group focuses in particular on a specialized subset of T cells dedicated to the production of IL-22 and IL-13, two cytokines that act on epithelial cells and also investigates the interactions of lymphoid tissue inducer cells and B cells in the mucosal immune system.
There is an opportunity for a highly motivated and talented Post Doc. The investigator will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge investigations aimed at understanding the role of Lymphoid tissue inducer cells and B cells in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a PhD, MD or PhD/MD degrees in the area of immunology with a record of high level scientific accomplishment in human and/or mouse immunology. Applicants should have expertise with a broad repertoire of techniques in immunology and molecular biology and should have a proven ability to independently design, execute and interpret experiments. Additional preferred qualifications include demonstrated excellence in the organization and productive efforts in collaborations with other researchers.
