Description
We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford to study gene expression in eukaryotic cells, with specific emphasis on the mechanisms regulating RNA stability. The successful candidate will join ongoing projects that utilize a combination of biochemical and genetic approaches. Applicants are expected to be highly motivated, with excellent critical thinking skills and will preferably have a strong background in molecular biology, possess a science degree, or equivalent qualifications. Applicants at postdoctoral level are especially encouraged to apply.
The work will be carried out in the laboratory of Dr. Lidia Vasiljeva in the Department of Biochemistry, which is a part of the University of Oxford’s thriving scientific community.
This position is funded by The Wellcome Trust and graded on the University’s grade 6 pay scale, for which the salary range is £25,623 – £30,594 per annum. The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.
