A NIBR Postdoctoral Fellowship position is available for a highly-motivated scientist to join a dynamic group in the department of Respiratory Diseases. This is an exciting opportunity to perform cutting-edge research investigating the differentiation of primary human epithelial and mesenchymal cells in organotypic co-culture systems and will investigate the role of intracellular signalling pathways governing these processes. The fellowship is for a three-year term.

You will need a Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology or a related discipline and some post-doctorial training. Competence in the culturing and phenotypic analysis of primary human cells, in functional cellular assays and in the methods to study intracellular signalling pathways is essential. Ideally, you will also have experience with extra cellular matrix proteins, molecular biology methods to study gene/protein expression and with in vivo mouse models. A background in respiratory of fibrotic diseases will be a further advantage.

Happy working independently as well as in team, your strong analytical and problem-solving skills and scientific creativity are essential. Excellent organisational and both oral and written communication skills are a must for this role.
