A postdoctoral position is immediately available at Rutgers University in the lab of Dr. Mike Kiledjian to study the regulation of mRNA turnover with an emphasis on mRNA decapping. The lab is interested in understanding how mRNA decapping is regulated and the physiological role of decapping in mammalian cells. We have identified multiple mRNA decapping proteins which appear to function on distinct subsets of genes and pathways.
the role of mRNA decapping in the modulation of innate immunity genes and the innate immune response
the role of decapping proteins in promoting cell migration and metastasis
the role of decapping in cognitive function
